The UK’s first quoted diversified royalty investment company, Duke Royalty, has appointed Newgate Communications (formerly Redleaf) as it PR adviser, it was announced today.
City-based Newgate will use its integrated teams to develop and enhance Duke Royalty’s financial and investor communications. The account will be managed by Director, Capital Markets Elisabeth Cowell.
“With royalty financing steadily growing in popularity in the UK, this is an excellent account for Newgate to win,” Cowell said. “We are looking forward to working with the experienced Duke Royalty team to help grow the business and attract new shareholders to its register.”
Duke Royalty provides growth capital to a diverse range of businesses primarily in the UK and Europe. Its royalty financing agreements provide a non-dilutive form of capital to private companies that wish to build their businesses while maintaining equity control. Duke Royalty aims to replicate the success of royalty financing firms in North America, which have been delivering solutions of this kind since the 1980s. Its investments are intended to provide robust, stable, long-term returns to its shareholders.
Neil Johnson, CEO of Duke Royalty, said: “We believe British and European businesses could benefit massively from royalty financing. Effectively communicating and explaining this form of financing to businesses needing capital will be key.
“As well, we need to highlight the potential for income and capital gains enjoyed by North American royalty investors for many years to UK investors and we feel Newgate Communications is best placed for us to deliver on both objectives.”
