Over the past 25 years, PPS Group has worked with most of London’s leading planning consultants. Since 2012 we have been organising an annual planners quiz, to help maintain strong relationships with our London based planning colleagues, but mainly to ascertain which planning consultancy is the smartest in town. This year’s event sold out in less than 24 hours and took place at a busy bar inside King’s Cross Station. With over 80 contestants competing, across twelve teams, competition was fierce.
Last year’s winners Rolfe Judd entered as well as keen quizzers from JLL, Montagu Evans, CBRE, Savills, WYG and CgMs, Indigo Planning and Maddox Associates plus a team from Planning magazine, a team made up of planners from various housebuilders and of course, a PPS team (The Nimby’s).
The eventual winners were Savills (pictured below), who pipped the Planning magazine team to 1st place by just one point. 3rd place was shared between JLL (On a Mission Without Permission) and CgMs (Let’s Get Quizical). Plans for next year’s event are already underway, with rumours of a bigger venue and a celebrity host already circulating. Could it be Eric Pickles? We will have to wait and see.
