PUBLIC AFFAIRS

PUBLIC AFFAIRS

Politics and regulation has never had a greater bearing on organisational success; and yet the political environment has never been more complicated.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS

'The penalty for refusing to participate in politics... you end up being governed by your inferiors.' – Plato

The last few years have demonstrated that we exist in a time of highly volatile politics.  Our job at Newgate is to help businesses and organisations make sense of the political agenda and the forces that shape it, understand the impact it could have, and mitigate it by engaging with Government, Parliament and other elected bodies, regulatory bodies, consumer groups, and all those who have the ability to influence that environment – for better or worse.

We help our clients explain to policymakers the threats facing their businesses and organisations as a result of existing or impending legislation and regulation, and support them in setting out the benefits that flow from what they do – or that they could do, if regulations and policies are right.

Our team draws on many years’ experience, often of working at the heart of government as civil servants and Special Advisers to Cabinet Ministers, in Parliament, for campaigning bodies and for all the major political parties across the UK.  Newgate’s unrivalled network extends from London to the devolved administrations in Cardiff and Edinburgh, and to the English regions via our Bristol and Manchester offices.  We also deliver campaigns targeting the institutions in Brussels and work with our international colleagues and partners on public affairs projects across the globe.

Ignoring the world of politics and regulation is not an option.  With our help you can understand it and master it, enabling your business to thrive.
