Dan is Managing Partner of our UK research practice, Newgate Research, helping deliver insights that underpin effective strategic planning, communications and reputation management.
Dan has nearly 20 years’ experience as a social and market researcher working across a wide range of sectors and policy areas including personal finance and financial services, transport and infrastructure, property and housing, education, employment and welfare.
He was previously an Executive Director and the Head of Qualitative Research at Kantar Public UK, one of the leading social research firms in the UK. Before this he helped lead the research offer at EdComs, an educational communications consultancy.
Dan’s core expertise involves community, stakeholder, customer and employee research including behavioural insight and public dialogue to inform organisational strategy, policy, service and campaign development; communications testing and co-creation to evaluate and refine campaign and PR content; and helping organisations understand, measure and monitor the health of their reputation.
Dan also brings a substantial amount of experience undertaking research on sensitive issues or highly complex subject matter, from delivering effective digital services for Adobe to the future use and regulation of drones for the Department for Transport. He is a Trustee of the Social Research Association, a Member of the Market Research Society, and holds a bachelor degree in Social Psychology from Sussex University.
Google tells me that in the last year I spent more time in the seat of my bike (282 hours!) than I did walking around (109 hours). Not sure if that is impressive or a little worrying…
