Perry’s career has been defined by his involvement in politics and public affairs. After early years spent working in the Conservative Research Department and as a Special Adviser in the Major Government of the early nineties, he joined the UK’s first, and arguably foremost, Westminster lobbying agency where he advised a range of blue-chip clients.
In more recent years, Perry has brought his experience to bear at a local level. With a strategic eye and a political brain, he has helped many of the UK’s leading house builders steer a calm path through the choppy waters of public consultation, securing many successes at planning committees across England. His experience extends from estate regeneration to public buildings to tricky Green Belt sites. As part of the leadership team, Perry provides strategic advice to a range of clients and is adept at untangling a community’s web of competing interests to identify the true sources of influence.
Greatest achievement? Walking through the door of No 10 to start a job in the Political Office, back in the late eighties - I served as Correspondence Secretary to Margaret Thatcher. A privilege, but a scary one!
